Hawaiian Roll Chocolate Crème Brulee “Donuts”

These “Donuts” require no proofing, rising or mixing of dough. These will certainly be the easiest and perhaps tastiest “donuts” you’ve ever made! Hope you enjoy as much as my family did!
1. Pull apart the 12 rolls, then cut each roll into a heart shape.
2. Add enough canola oil to just coat the bottom of a medium skillet. Heat over medium heat, then toast the sides and top of the heart shaped roll, just until golden brown.
3. Using the handle of a spoon, pierce the side of the heart shaped roll, and move the handle up and down to create a “space” for the filling.
4. Place Nutella into a zip-top bag, then snip one of the corners with a scissors. Pipe the Nutella (as much as your heart desires), into the center of the “donut”.
5. In a medium sized skillet, add the sugar and water over medium-high heat. Once bubbles begin to form, reduce heat to medium. Swirl pan occasionally, don’t stir, until the mixture turns golden in color. Remove from the heat.
6. Working very carefully, as mixture is hot, dip the top of each “donut” into the caramel. Swirl the “donut” to fully cover. Wear a glove on your hand for extra protection. Lift out of the caramel, and tilt away from your fingers. Let the excess drip for a few seconds, then set aside to cool, placing the non-caramel side down. Repeat with remaining “donuts”.
