Nutella Pine Cone Cookies

1. In a large bowl, mix together the butter, granulated sugar, Nutella and egg until well blended. Add in the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
2. Scoop out cookie dough by tablespoon measurements onto a lightly greased plate or parchment paper lined sheet tray (you need something that will fit in the freezer). Roll into a “pinecone” shape. Using a butterknife, make 3-4 slits horizontally and 2-3 slits vertically on top of cookie dough. Place pinecone shaped cookie dough in freezer for 10 minutes.
3. Meanwhile preheat oven to 350F.
4. Bake on parchment paper lined baking sheet for 10-11 minutes. Allow to fully cool.
5. Scoop a couple spoonfuls of powdered sugar into a mesh strainer or sifter. Holding pinecone cookie vertically, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
6. If desired spread Nutella on half of the flat side of cookies, then top with remaining cookies for a cookie sandwich.
